Student Success
Read some of our student success stories, and some inspiring stories about how students successfully take the lead on their studies and career pathways.

At Bendigo TAFE and Kangan Institute we are fortunate enough to be able to help others within the community. An example of this can be seen through the partnership our organisation maintains with Guide Dogs Victoria.

The two organisations have collaborated through many projects including our very own fashion show! We also have a very special brand ambassodar/staff member named Idaho who loves to represent our four-legged friends amongst at our many events throughout the year.

Student Diversity
Spanning across 10 metropolitan and regional campuses, a number of onshore and offshore sites and working within the Victorian prison system, 2019 listed over 42,000 enrolments including training for 5,525 apprentices and trainees.

Our students come from all walks of life and diversity is one of our proudest hallmarks. Welcoming students of all cultures and nationalities is a priority at BKI. Over 800 international students, both onshore and offshore, hail from a variety of countries including the Philippines, China, South Korea and India.

We are a flexible, innovative and friendly place of learning, with a dynamic multicultural atmosphere. Our principles, processes and practices are reflective of an egalitarian and social cohesive Australian society, ensuring that we offer an appreciation of the cultural heritage and experiences of Indigenous people, in addition to an appreciation of Australia’s diversity as a multicultural society, endeavouring to support intercultural understandings.
The Indigenous Education Centres (IEC) at our Broadmeadows, Bendigo and Echuca campuses are innovative environments that foster and promote Indigenous learning, while supporting Indigenous students undertaking study and training in a wide array of courses across the institute.

The IEC welcomes all Indigenous Australians. Our students come from many different backgrounds ranging from early school leavers to people over 50. We support students engaged in a variety of courses across the TAFE, from foundation to entry level courses which include language, literacy, numeracy and computer skills, cultural education and advanced courses from the Certificate I level all the way to diplomas and advanced diplomas.

Most importantly, we have dedicated Koori Liaison Officers who specialise in aboriginal Student Support  (male and female) based at the IEC to assist students in accessing the full range of support services through the institute, as well as assisting them navigate their way in dealing with government agencies and other relevant organisations.
